Do I need to take the motorbike theory test if I have a car licence?

You will need to take a theory test if you want a licence for a new category of vehicle, for example, if you have a car licence and you want a motorcycle licence you will need to take a theory test.

If, however, if you wish to upgrade within a vehicle category you will not normally need to take a theory test, for example, if you have a full automatic car licence and you want a manual car licence you will not have to take a theory test.

Do I need to take a car theory test if I've got a motorbike licence?

It depends when you took your test and which licence you have.

If you got your full motorbike licence before February 1st 2001 - you are exempt from taking the car Theory Test. If you got your licence after Feb 1st 2001 - you'll need to take a car Theory Test.
